Bahia Negra...accomplished

President Evans has been feeling very strong about trying to get to a place in our mission where there are people that have joined the church in the Asuncion Area and then gone back to their people the Chamacoco who live in the area of Bahia Negra specifically Puerta Diana; Puerta Pollo, and Puerta Esperanza.
These people welcomed us with open arms after we had traveled for two days to get there over some of the worst roads we have seen.  The trip was worth the effort though.  They are hungry for the gospel to be developed in their area.  There are so many good people there.  It seemed like a little piece of heaven on the banks of the Paraguayan River.  These people are a progressive people who love God, value education for their children and maintain their lands.  It was a wonderful experience to be with them.
Rain came the day after we got there and so the roads that had been bad before became impassable for several days.  We were stuck!  We continued to visit and teach.  Sunday morning we had about 80 in attendance for a sacrament meeting that was held.  Maybe one day there will be meetings held in a building in this beautiful place.
We also were able to donate clothes and some toys to the community but more exciting was the glasses that we were able to offer.  Our son Travis has a friend that gathered about 400 pairs of glasses for the people of Paraguay as a Scout Eagle Project.  We wish he could have seen these people as we literally brought vision to their eyes.
Hopefully some pictures can say a thousand words........
