Limpio Conference

As we start our round of conferences for this next 6 weeks I am trying to get a few pictures of our missionaries as they learn.  We love being with them!  We love when they are trying to get better.  We love when they figure out who they are serving!

Bahia Negra...accomplished

President Evans has been feeling very strong about trying to get to a place in our mission where there are people that have joined the church in the Asuncion Area and then gone back to their people the Chamacoco who live in the area of Bahia Negra specifically Puerta Diana; Puerta Pollo, and Puerta Esperanza.
These people welcomed us with open arms after we had traveled for two days to get there over some of the worst roads we have seen.  The trip was worth the effort though.  They are hungry for the gospel to be developed in their area.  There are so many good people there.  It seemed like a little piece of heaven on the banks of the Paraguayan River.  These people are a progressive people who love God, value education for their children and maintain their lands.  It was a wonderful experience to be with them.
Rain came the day after we got there and so the roads that had been bad before became impassable for several days.  We were stuck!  We continued to visit and teach.  Sunday morning we had about 80 in attendance for a sacrament meeting that was held.  Maybe one day there will be meetings held in a building in this beautiful place.
We also were able to donate clothes and some toys to the community but more exciting was the glasses that we were able to offer.  Our son Travis has a friend that gathered about 400 pairs of glasses for the people of Paraguay as a Scout Eagle Project.  We wish he could have seen these people as we literally brought vision to their eyes.
Hopefully some pictures can say a thousand words........

Sending them back....

We miss ending our experience with our mssionaries in the temple.  We always have a testimony meeting in our home and give them enough food to get them home.  I am sure they are ready for the food at their own families table by the time they get there.

Changes is leadership

With changes in the mission literally there are changes sometimes in our leadership.  Hermana Nuñez will now join us as an Hermana Training Leader.  She will serve with Hermana Lyman.  These two will be wonderful leaders as they serve together.  We are grateful for their service as missionaries and as leaders to our Hermanas here in the mission.

Recently we had our Councilo meeting again.  There have been a few new Zone Leaders that have joined us as well.    This is the group that keeps things going.  We are so grateful for all that they do.

This month we were taught on effective teaching and finding.

President also helped us understand more the doctrine of repentance.

Tiny but mighty!!

We have had some really busy weeks but in that time we received two really great hermanas!!!  Hermana Barrera comes to us from the USA and Hermana Coy comes from Guatemala.  They are doing great!  We love it when missionaries come so happy to jump in and work!

Hermana Coy will be trained by Hermana Alegre and Hermana Barrera by Hermana Wall.  You can`t get any better than that!  They should be dynamite when they are done!

Yes the Evans Family continues to grow in many ways

While we are having many incredible experiences for growth here in Paraguay, our family in the United States continues to grow as well in size!  In April we were so excited to add our new little granddaughter Karaline.  We are so grateful that she was born healthy and that she has two very loving and excited parents! That will make 5 grandchildren that will have been born while we are here.  What blessings! Welcome Karaline!!  We love you!!
