A day never to be forgotten!

We are still floating here in the mission with the opportunity to be with President and Sister Nelson, and Elder and Sister Stevenson!  Blessed seems like a word that really doesn´t adequately describe how we feel.
We were counseled by Sister Stevenson on setting goals and being organized.   Elder Stevenson taught us how the Missionary Handbook is really a handbook of blessings, the importance of the scriptures as we convert others and we become more converted ourselves, Preach My Gospel will provide us with the answers we need.
Sister Nelson taught us about obedience and how the more obedient we are the closer we become to being our true self and exact obedience brings miracles.
President Nelson taught us many things first the importance for all of us to be learning a language.  If you are learning Spanish continue to learn a new word until your last day and if you speak Spanish you should be learning English.
He taught our missionaries that they should look for a companion after the mission that loves the Lord first.
He taught about the affirmations of the Book of Mormon and listed to us many of the things that he had been taught and had been affirmed to him as he has studied the Book of Mormon.
In the end he gave us an apostolic blessing!  We were blessed and the families of our missionaries were blessed through their missionaries.  We love our Prophet!  We all had the opportunity to shake all the hands of each one of them.

A few photos from Concilio

This has been a really busy month for us here in Paraguay Asuncion North Mission.  We have moved across the mission with a new goal in mind. We have the goal to raise our baptisms in the month to 100!  This is going to take the efforts of everyone.  Our office Elders have done some great research that has helped us understand some things that are working and some things that we need to improve in.  We are very grateful as well to have a new assistant Elder McEwan that will work with Elder Cartagena.  We are so pleased to have their skills and examples.

FHE with the Evans

We have been torn apart in the house this month with a broken water line that flooded the wood floor.  So FHE was outside with the dog, the mosquitos and all the furniture! We thought once of canceling but then we figured this is family life and sometimes you just have to roll with it. We loved our time with the District of Luque 2 and a few visitors from PJC.

Of course FHE isn´t complete without games and a few treats!

Photos of some great missionaries

As we have moved through the mission the last 5 weeks sometimes I have actually remembered to take some pictures.....(I am just as bad with my own family).  We have been uplifted, inspired and motivated as we encontrar, enseñar, y bautizar!

A few thoughts from conference

Usually for General Conference I write down questions to ask my Heavenly Father but this year, I found it super hard to find those questions— so, I decided to just go to and see what the Lord wanted me to get out of conference. Literally every single talk, I thought of a family member of mine or a dear loved one! I kept writing on the side “For my sister”, “For my parents”, “For my best friend from high school” etc. I was able to go online today (Monday) and share my thoughts with those loved ones and I really hope they were able to receive their own personal revelation! I’m currently
still studying my notes and hope to find some more of my own personal revelation. I know that He lives and that He loves each and every one of us with an infinite love.

- Hermana Maco

This General Conference was definitely something special. I was able to feel the Spirit extremely strong and I was able to answer some personal questions through the magnificent discourses given. This conference was able to help me increase my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his amazing work, and also help me learn how to develop a greater love for the Paraguayan people. I’m so grateful for the Priesthood power that we have here on the earth, and I encourage everyone to listen and study the words of the Prophets and Apostles from this last conference in order to feel the deep, expiatory love that Christ, The Savior, has for His people.

-Elder Moser

I had been waiting for General Conference with anticipation for a while now. Even though I didn’t have specific questions, I prayed to receive guidance regarding my area, investigators, and personal progress. Before Conference, I had studied President Nelson’s most recent talks, especially his “Youth of Israel” devotional. I definitely noticed a difference in being prepared to listen to the
Prophet, Apostles, and other auxiliary leaders. I was more attentive to the Spirit’s promptings and received answers to questions I didn’t even know I had. I’m grateful for the testimony I was able to strengthen about the restored priesthood power and the reality of having living prophets, seers, and revelators upon the earth today. I know that this is Christ’s church and that He leads us through these latter days, and through His Atonement, we will be prepared for His fast approaching Second Coming.

-Hermana Amado
