Some sweet moments in the end of Zone Conferences

Some of the best moments in zone conferences are the unplanned ones.  Conversation with the  president over lunch.  Lunch!  Wow that is always a pleasant word for missionaries.  Spontaneous shoulder massage while waiting for ice cream, who wouldn't like that?

How many Evans??.

Our family continues to enjoy the blessings of posterity!  We are so excited to add another grandchild to our family!  Little Rees Michael Evans was an Easter treat this year!  Welcome to the family little Rees, we are so excited to have you!

Travel

We have just recently completed travel across the mission.  One of the great blessings of travel in such a large area is the amount of time that we get to spend with our Assistants, Hermana Training leaders and this time we took our new nurse to meet parts of the mission.  We even had a few extra minutes to stop at a National Park outside Pedro Juan Cabellero, Cerró Cora.  A little treat for all of us.

Ping pong and zone conference

Waiting for interviews is one of the things that always happens in zone conferences. This round of zone conferences there has been a ping-pong tournament in the time while the missionaries  have been waiting. There's been some pretty fierce competition but the rewards were worth it as we were fed by the Spirit and learned more about living prophets and dispensations and the food rewards work great as well!

First Missionaries in Campu Am'Pu

Rough roads and rain all night couldn't stop the work of the Lord moving forward, we took Elders Singer and Marcum to Campu Am'Pu to work with the 50+ people there that have never had Missionaries among them.  They were so excited!  They want to move forward in the gospel but don't know how.  We had the first ever priesthood and relief society meetings. We can't wait to hear from these Elders in a few weeks.

A rough trip ......

We have recently left from a trip to the Chaco.  We started this trip a little plagued with truck problems.  One of our trucks started having problems as it left the Asuncion area and then we had a fuel pump problem as we left for Mistolar.  It is not to comforting when you know what kind of roads that you are going to have ahead of you.  Thank heavens for our great guide Carlos Coleman who has pulled us out and pulled us through the thick and thin of it all. We got to Mistolar very late and most of the community was in bed.  We set up our camp and made foil dinners.  All Elders under the overhang in hammocks. We even indroduced S'mores to our great Latin Missionaries!

We wish we could have conference every month...

Conference was fantastic and was very inspirational. I loved how many of the talks were centered around the Holy Ghost, and the importance of acting upon first impressions, and always trusting in the Lord even when we cannot comprehend situations as a whole.
-Elder Smith

Conference was definitely inspired and I found two great themes that we should follow: be a disciple of Christ at all times and share your light with everyone, and always listen to the spirit. I know if we always try to do these two things better, we will always be in the right place to help others and to share the pure love of Christ with them. If we do this we will find pure joy too!
-Elder Pistorius

The conference as always was something special. Especially the music was special. One of my favorite moments was listening to President Thomas S. Monson. As little as it was, it showed me that something so little can make such a powerful message. It's the same with the missionary work. Little small acts and messages can be just as strong as long and big acts. The same goes in life, just one smile can change someone's day or week!
-Elder Tveten

-Elder Mercado

General Conference is always a good opportunity to learn a lot about the gospel. This year was my first conference in the mission field, and as a result I had a very different point of view on many of the talks. I started to think about and take notes on how I could apply the teachings of the church leaders to the members and investigators in my area, and I was able to get so much more out of Conference! I know that the Prophet and other general authorities are called of God and by their words we can come closer to Christ. God's plan for us is so simple, but yet so important.
-Elder Olson
