Big changes....

We have spent the last six months in one way or another with our assistant Elder Bickley.  He has literally led us through these months.  How can we ever thank him enough for helping us ge our feet on the ground?  With this change came a change in leadership.  We will miss you Elder Bickley but you will make a difference any where you are.  We are grateful  for your desire to serve the people of the Chaco.

Elder Bridge..solid in everything!

What a day!

With the excitement of the new always come the hardache of loosing the old.  We lost a great group the next day but not before they spent some time giving acts of service to the country and people that they have grown to love and a session at our beautiful temple.

Gifts of new missionaries!

What gift!!  Nine new missionaries ready to work!  We are so excited to receive them!

Christmas with the Evans

Travis our 15 year old son makes sure that we still keep some traditions in place.  We came home Christmas Eve after visiting the hospital to find that Travis had made paper snow flakes and hung them from the ceiling.  It is a little hard to see but he had even put Kleenex on the window sill for snow and turned the air conditioning in this room to make it cold enough for a fire.
Christmas Day brings a ridiculous present for him but makes a young boy the happiest kid in the entire country!  What are we thinking!!!

Traveling with missionaries

Some of the best times we have are on the long road trips back and forth to different areas.  We have missionaries with us and can really get to know them on a different level.  Two of our new Hermana Training leaders went on this trip to PJC Hermana Santos and Hermana Rolim.  Stopping in the morning for church in a small branch were testimonies and talents are shared.

Another trip to the Chaco

One more time to the good, humble people of the Chaco.  We love the time that we can spend with the missionaries on these trips but this one was a little tougher than most.  It had rained the day before and it never rains in the Chaco so the roads were terrible!!  It took us twice the amount of time but it was all worth it when we set up a movie night for the Nivacle where we watched "
The Restoration" video and "The Testaments".  The next day we had a wonderful sacrament meeting a great Relief Society/ Young Women's meeting where our Hermana Training Leaders taught the importance of mothers.
The Priesthood meeting was amazing where those holding the priesthood were taught how to consecrate oil and use that.  They had not had that for 30 years!!! The frosting on the cake was when one man asked to be baptized.  It was worth every effort to get there.
