Our interesting visit to Abundancia

This in an incredible story of a people that the final chapter have definitely not been written.  There is a great history of the beginning of the Nivacle people that is found at Mistorlar.net.  They are a indigenous people that originally all lived in Paraguay on the boarder of Boliva.  They were a people who had passed down a oral history of the Great White God visiting,  when they were taught the gospel they readily accepted knowing that it fit into everything that they believed already.
The church bought them a piece of land that was closer in and were they could be reached more readily and that didn't flood constantly.  They have build them homes and there is a school, a health center and a bakery.  They also purchased 100 head of cattle for them.  It is a work in progress to teach them to use what they have been given in a way that will help them move forward.  Recently there was computers and Internet installed and there are children that can go to the school and then get on the Internet and work with volunteers daily as teachers in addition to the teachers that teach at the school.  The missionaries there work very hard with the people.  It is hard for them to understand that the flour and milk that they receive need to be used to provide for the people in a manner that is not short term.  They live in a world of just the present and don't yet understand that they need to look forward to the future.
